God, how I love this programme.They say that if you put a thousand monkeys in a room with a thousand typewriters then in a thousand years they will write the works of Shakespeare.Some years ago a group of producers put one monkey in a room with an etch-a-sketch and the result was: Dante’s Cove.It’s genius. A parallel world where concepts that we accept as normal just do not exist. Like “acting”. And “shirts”.But goodness me, what a wonderful place to live. An entire island populated by beautiful, young, sexy people. And Tracy Scoggins.It’s a place where someone called Reichen Lehmkuhl (who apparently won a reality TV show and dated Lance Bass) must atone for his sins by submitting to living his life under a sheen of baby oil.It’s where we marvel at the “performance” of Charlie David - possibly the most wooden actor who ever lived. (Let me put it this way - that chiselled torso isn’t so much the result of Gold’s Gym as it is a carpenter’s workshop. No really, you can see the other actors batting away the splinters.)In short, a masterpiece. I wouldn’t miss an episode. |

Surfer, Dude
I generally like movies about surfing - documentaries, fiction and even animated flicks. While this movie started out fine, by the end, I really had no idea why the movie was made. Nothing really happens. Nothing. Furthermore, this movie is actually only 75 minutes long (without the credits)! That’s pretty short, but it fits since there isn’t really any story.I did like the beginning though - there are cool surfing shots, lots of specialized surfer lingo, and a cool introduction to McConaughey’s character as a legendary surfer. And that was not all, the beginning also gives us an exotic high-tech firm w/3D virtual technology, a surfer reality show and even a flashy/upscale topless beach party (it was very well done!).However, in terms of where all these elements go, the movie tanks. McConaughey’s character walks around confused and dejected because there’s no surf … all while he’s continually assaulted by the high tech firm that’s pressuring him to sign a contract.As a movie, it’s pretty terrible. However, I must say that I still enjoyed a lot of the above elements for their fun-spirited nature. For the general viewer though, there’s definitely no point in seeing this movie.

Party Down
I thought this show was GREAT! The reason I found it in the first place was because Veronica Mars ended and so I wanted more of Rob Thomas. Well, turns out there is quite the slew of people working on this show, and the product is wonderful (to me, of course). I am a huge Veronica Mars fan, and so it was neat to see various cast members guest star on all the different episodes. I thought it was humorous and well-written. The pilot episode doesn’t quite grab you, but once I got in to a couple episodes, I quickly appreciated the first ones.I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a light, funny show. I can’t wait for season two (if there is one). It definitely leaves you wanting more.

If you liked Shoot’em up, then you will love this.The style this video is shot in, is simply paying homage to all the old school films. Saturday kung-fu flicks, 1970s action flick, and high budget action films that simply sucked.This film is awesome. It is a ride from start to finish. a non stop action ride, wit and humor pervade this film. The camera work and directing were well thought out, the story flowed in a forward direction.The entire concept was one inconceivable idea after another, and all the ideas worked. This Week’s Shirtless Soap Hunks!
Here are some of my favorite soap hunk scenes this summer so far. After MUCH, MUCH, MUCH too long a time with Eric Martsolf keeping his clothes on, we have some extensive “Passions”-esque scenes of him parading around showing that magnificent body of his.
