Midnight Witness

to me this movie was watchable,but not great.there was some excitement and suspense,but not as much as i had hoped for.the acting is pretty good.the characters were okay,although i thought Jan Michael Vincent’s character was very strange and out of place in this movie.the movie didn’t always hold my interest and my mind sometimes wandered.the basic plot of the movie is that a fellow videotapes some crooked police beating another fellow.the police notice they are being taped.from there,the fellow and his wife go on the run to escape the crooked cops who want the videotape.as far as this genre of movies goes,this movie is average.if you have nothing better to do,you could do worse.but,like i said there were times when my mind wandered,due to some slow spots.this is certainly not the worst movie of the genre i have ever seen,but not the best either.many people may really enjoy this movie.it just depends on your taste.for me,i give “Midnight Witness” 5/10.

It’s quite a brilliant fetch to have Shannon Tweed as the villain,because seeing her use her looks for evil and not for good/neutral is a real turn-on.Come to think about,she wouldn’t have been a bad pick for “Basic Instinct”.This could be the nudity talking,but she’s able to look and act way more evil than Sharon Stone.The plot for what it’s worth:after a guy can’t get promotion despite lending his wife to the right people,he like,totally kills himself.His wife,understandably,demands vengeance and wants to kill the total jerk who did get the promotion,Alex Weston.Only her idea of vengeance is having wild bang with everybody around him.That’ll teach ‘em.The audience is given what it wants:ye olde soft core classics(pool table anyone?),but also teenage boy’s phantasies brought to life,a lesbian scene,shower scenes.I always wonder how they keep the camera from getting moist.The writing actually proves to be good,even if by accident.For instance,the maid interrupts what could have easily become another steamy fuck scene,and you just want her to like,not be there.Then she gets killed.Again,they know what the audience wants.Could you believe it,a soft core movie with a plot that actually kinda makes sense.The ending was both fairly surprising and I should mention hot.If you’re ever going to watch soft core accept no substitute.

Saffron Burrows plays a wonderful character that is faced with challenging odds. This “Follow Your Dreams” movie will either be loved or hated. The ending is either fun or clich, however you look at it. This Sundance movie deserves a look into never the less. Let your heart decide.
